Lister Residential Home provides specialist care for 32 Dementia sufferers under and over pension age, currently the youngest is 53 and the oldest is 96 years old. We have on occasions accepted clients who have known psychiatric illness, however, it is essential the Dementia is the primary problem.

Philosophically it is universally agreed amongst medical, nursing staff, and other authorities concerned with Dementia, People suffering from Dementia should not be cared for in the same environment as those who do not. We therefore feel that as a specialist home we are providing a home for people with Dementia at whatever stage, which is geared to the needs of this client group, developing a greater understanding and expertise amongst the care staff.
